Siamese cats are one of the most sociable and extroverted of all the cat breeds. They are also very popular and distinguishable. Siamese cats are known to have originated from South east Asia. The exact origin of the Siamese is unknown but that did not deter the breed from gaining popularity.

Siamese cats have very distinctive features. They have almond shaped eyes, distinct facial features and lean body shape. They also carry strikingly contrasting colours on their body.

Besides their unique appearance, Siamese cats have distinct personalities as well. They are known to develop strong bonds with their owners and therefore less independent as well. They are very affectionate, warm and like to stay close to their owners within the house. This makes them a very popular breed for cat owners looking for a pet to spend time with.

Siamese cats are not easy to train. This is not because they are not clever. As a matter of fact, Siamese cats are very high in intelligence. It just takes some time to train them into listening to the owner's instructions, especially those that are more playful. Even then, it should be a relief to know that Siamese cats do not usually scratch on furniture. You should be quite safe if you provide a scratching post for your Siamese cat.
